Southcombe Barn is pleased to announce the opening 'A Premonition of this Place', a joint exhibition by Milly Brown and Becky Dodman Wainwright. The show which features painting, drawing, textiles and collage follows a week-long artists residency this August. Inspired by the cultivated and wild spaces in and around the barn the artists explored place, spirit, and divination for the starting points for the exhibited work.  

The residency allowed the artists to explore the unique landscapes and examine how past habitations and interventions might help us in divining the future of our physical and metaphysical landscapes.

Southcombe Barn Art Gallery is dedicated to supporting women artists and bringing current creative discussion to the countryside, representing voices that have been historically excluded from mainstream discourse.  The Gallery is set within the grounds of Southcombe Barn, a new arts, nature and wellbeing retreat space located in Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Dartmoor.  Set in 16 acres of wildflower meadow, pasture and ancient woodland and backing onto the open moor, we offer beautiful guest accommodation, events and workshops.
