Our first ever AUP staff art exhibition will take place in Project Space 1, 2 - 13 October. Thirty staff members from across all areas of the University have pledged to take part and I'm very excited to invite you all to visit the exhibition and attend the Private View on Thursday 5 October, 17:00 - 19:00.
I am exhibiting ' Sisterhood'
Sisterhood is a wool and cotton Tapestry Weaving 15cm x 15 cm inspired by a vintage photograph of women forming a ritual circle, heads back in joyous exhalation in their togetherness, and freedom.
With a passion for art, and interiors, Becky Dodman Wainwright is a multi-disciplinary textile designer and artist with a colourful and bold style. Having worked for over a decade in the textile industry and as a lecturer at Arts University Plymouth, the Devon born designer is creating from a diverse heritage of Chinese and Colombian influence. Becky focuses much of her work on esoteric themes such as tea leaf readings for participatory art works, through to the celebration of femininity through small personal tapestries exploring womanhood.
